A sports enthusiast with great skill of training, Dr. Mandrekar has been with this Institute for over 2 decades. He has completed B.Com from Bombay University; LL.B (General), Bombay University; B.P.Ed & M.P.Ed from Shivaji University Kolhapur and Ph.D. from University of Pune.
His area of specialization is Athletics and his areas of interest include Organisation, Coaching and training young athletes. He has been appointed as manager of Goa University Athletics Meet held at Mangalaore, 2014-2015.
He has conducted research in the area of “Effect of the Aerobic and Anaerobic Training Programme on Sprinters performance of Goan Girls aged between 14-16 years”.
He has been awarded the best sportsmen by Director of Sports & Youth Affairs, Goa. He has also received the award as the Best College Sports Director by Don Bosco College, Goa.
He started his career in 1986 as a sports teacher in Little Flower High School, Calangute, Goa. He then went on to join People’s Higher Secondary School in 1989-1994 as Director of Physical Education and NSS Programme Officer.
Dr. Mandrekar was appointed as the Vice President of Goa amateur Athletics association. He is also the life member of Master Athletics Association. He has served as the member of Sports Council of Goa University.
