Ms. Meghana A. Kapdi

Assistant Professor – History

She is an Assistant Professor at V.M. Salgaocar College of Law having 20 years of teaching experience. She started her teaching career in the year 1999 in Saraswat Vidyalaya, Mapusa as a part-time lecturer in Political Science and History.

Later on, she joined Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar as a lecturer of History from July 1999 to July 2001.

Since July 2001 she has been a member of the faculty of V.M.Salgaocar College of Law as an Assistant Professor in History. For a brief period, she also taught Economics in the law college.

About Education

She is a graduate of Dhempe College of Arts and Science, Miramar with History as her major subject. She also did her post-graduation in the same area from Goa University. She cleared her NET in the year 1999.

At present, she is doing her Ph.D. at Goa University under the guidance of Dr. Nagendra Rao.

She has successfully completed the 109th Faculty Induction Program organized by Goa University-HRDC in the months of February- March 2021.

Professional Affiliations

She also participated in the Faculty Development Program on Pedagogy & Practices in Heritage Studies organised by SMBST College Sangamner in collaboration with Heritage Foundation, Jalgaon, Maharashtra held in the month of July 2021.

She has attended and participated in various seminars and workshops as a faculty member of the college. She was invited as a resource person to deliver lectures for the certificate course for the Tourist Guide at GIRAR. She was one of the panel members for the Viva for the same certificate course for the Tourist Guide at GIPARD.
She was also invited as a resource person by the Center for Political Leadership, V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, Miramar to deliver an online talk titled “Dayanand Bandodkar: Making of a Mass Leader” on 18th February 2022.

Area Of Interest

Her area of interest are archaeology, ancient Indian History and mythological studies.

As a faculty member of V.M.Salgaoncar College of Law, she has also organized talks on history for the students of History in the college.

Publications

Recently she also presented a paper titled ’Sahyadri Khand: A Critical Analysis of Resources’ in the Local History Seminar, organized by the History Department, Goa University on 11th March 2022.
